1.         What is the cost of the Focus Seminar?
The regular price is $1250. If you register and pay in full 30 days prior to the start of the seminar the price is $999.
2.         How many days are involved?
A total of eleven days over three weekends.
Focus I begins on a Friday evening and concludes Sunday afternoon.
Focus II begins on a Wednesday evening and concludes Sunday afternoon.
Focus III begins on a Friday evening and concludes Sunday afternoon.
3.         Why should I go to a Focus Seminar?
Focus Seminar is an effectiveness training. It will show you how to become more effective in all your relationships and areas of leadership.
You should attend Focus if you want to significantly develop better relationships with family, friends, and business associates.
4.         Why are people so excited about going?
They have realized that their lives have been greatly impacted by learning about themselves. They find a new freedom to make better choices in life. It is natural for them to want to share it with people they love.
5.         Is this a secret organization?
We expect confidential information shared in the room to remain confidential and the exercises should not be shared so as not to spoil the surprise for each new participant.
6.         Is Focus Seminars a religious organization?
The seminar will include people with a variety of backgrounds who want to experience personal development. Focus Seminars was developed by and is run by individuals with a Christian worldview.
7.         Should I attend Focus with my spouse?
If you have an average or better marriage it usually bonds you closer together and enhances your communication skills. Marriages usually are still enhanced even if married couples are not able to attend together. This is not a marriage seminar, yet marriages can be healed through this process. If there is deep conflict you should consult our office about it.
8.         Can I attend with a friend?
The Focus Seminar is designed to increase bonds of respect and friendship in a deeper way.
9.         Will I be lectured to a lot and have to take notes?
Focus is an experiential seminar, which means participants get to interact through a series of exercises that progress through a process of unlayering.
10.     Why is the seminar split up over three weekends?
It is necessary to have time to process what is being learned and apply some of the tools that are given in the real world to find out what is working for you.
11.     What kinds of people attend Focus Seminars?
It is beneficial for all people, from the housewife to the business executive that wants to connect with others in a more effective manner. Focus skills are universally desirable.
12.     When I get done with Focus will I forget what I learned?
There are six once-a-week follow up classes immediately following Focus III. There is no additional charge for these and you are encouraged to attend if you want to help reinforce the skills you have learned. The more you use these skills the easier they are to remember.
13.     Will I be a different person after Focus?
You will become a better you. You will have the opportunity to discover things that have been holding you back from being all that you can be. Through this process, the changes people see in you will be so desirable, attractive and long lasting that other people will want what you have and will want to attend Focus also.
14.     Who runs Focus in Boise?
It is run by a eight member board that volunteers their time and energy to help create a better community.
15.     Who is making all the money generated by the fees?
Empower Boise is a 501(c) 3 non-profit corporation that sponsors the Focus seminars in Boise.
The money received is put back into the seminar to pay for considerable expenses. The originator/founder of the seminars requires a significant payment for the right to use the concepts and materials. We also must pay for the professionals who facilitate the seminar.
16.     What ages are allowed to participate in Focus Seminars?
Adults 18 years and older are welcome to attend the adult version. Empower Boise sponsors a Teen Focus for teens age 13 to 18 each summer.

18.     What kind of training do the facilitators have?
For Focus I & III the facilitators are successful business men that have gone through a rigorous training and shown a high degree of skill for this type of experiential learning. The Focus II facilitators have professional degrees in psychology or counseling.
19.     Is this training for messed up people?
The training is for functional adults who are seeking to improve their interpersonal skills and experience greater joy in life.
20.     How many Focus Seminars are presented each year?
Currently there are three seminar series each year. They start in February, July, and October. Each seminar is eleven days over three weekends.
21.     Is there any follow up courses for me to attend?
There are six weekly Follow-Up sessions immediately following Focus III These sessions review and expand upon the material presented during the seminar.
22.     Is there anything immoral or unethical involved in the training?
The seminar does not expect or require you to do anything outside of your moral or ethical boundaries. In fact we expect you to stay within accepted norms.
23.     If I am normal and happy why should I go to Focus?
A life without time for introspection is an unexamined life. It is important to look back at where you came from to understand why and where you are headed.
24.     Why can’t I do this all by myself without Focus?
There is a group dynamic that accelerates the growth process in each individual when attending the seminar. It may take you years to accomplish this by yourself.
